<reviewbody>I find it amazing that the normally sane people at Encyclopedia Britanica felt they needed to make an instructional film about how to play in the snow! This ranks with "Jay Can Do It" and the other pointless Britanica film "Surprise For Jean" in "what-the-hell-were-they-thinking"-ness.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>In an attempt to defuse their critics which told the EB people that their films were too dull, they made "Play In The Snow" where 3 kids, led by staple-named Bill go out and frolic frolic frolic. See them build a snow man! See them play a game which I never heard of before now called "Foxes and Geese"! See them cross country skiing (which brings back haunting memories for me)! What this all means is anyone's guess. Bad dubbing, somewhat bored kids and just the overall EB athetic makes this film ho-hum.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Another reviewer said that this reminds him of "Jay Can Do It." I would say that would be a fair comparasson, both of these films exist seemingly just for the heck of it. Having said that "Play In The Snow" is a much better film than "Jay can do it" due to the fact that watching kids play in the snow is more fun than watching kids do household chores. The best part of this film is the kids naming the Snowman "Wellington" and then taking off thier caps, bowing and saying "How do you do Mr. Wellington"</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>A cute 1945 idyllic film showing children having fun doing different activites in the snow. It is made for youngsters, and back in 1945 I am sure they enjoyed watching it.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>I watched this movie over and over again today (the day before Thanksgiving). It is addictive -- sad but also soothing. I wonder where the kids' dad is? Is he away at war?

They do seem grim while making Wellington. As if they weren't told how much work they'd have to do in the film. I could watch this film every day.</reviewbody>
