21682 This was the film that started the sci-fi craze of the 50s and 60s. Althought the special effects are laughable today, one must remember that this was state-of-the-art in 1951. With that caveat, everything about this film is superb or nearly superb. It is essentially a cold war plea for global understanding and cooperation wrapped in a classic sci-fi thriller. One gets only the barest glimpse of the dramatic depth of this piece from the trailer. However, I don't think it would have been possible to do any better. The story is just to deep to cover in two minutes and thirteen seconds. I don't much like the dramatic subtitles, but they were common at the time. Overall this is an excellent trailer.
